Heatmap of a Public Place

I have, in a group of four students at Roskilde University created a programme for generating a heatmap of a public space in order to create an analysis of the use of the space.

This is a used method in urban renewal and in recreation practises. The heatmap improves a good analysis.

The heatmap method is fairly simple. We extrude every pixel from the one picture in a movie to another in the next picture looking at the differences in pixels – the movement. There by we draw a heat map letting us know, where there are most traffic and rhythms in the captured area.
